At deepzone, we believe: only those who truly understand sport can deliver real value to athletes. That’s why we created the Athletic Advisory Board – a circle of selected athletes who contribute their experience from elite sports to help us further develop our products. We are very excited to welcome professional triathlete Daniela Bleymehl as the first expert on the board. In a short interview with our co-founder Fabian, she introduces herself and shares her motivation for joining deepzone.
Fabian: Hi Dani! We’re thrilled to have you on the Athletic Advisory Board. For those who don’t know you yet – would you mind introducing yourself?
Daniela: Hi everyone! I’m Daniela Bleymehl, a professional triathlete for more than 15 years, mother of three children, and a true endurance sports enthusiast. My biggest achievements include winning Challenge Roth in 2018, as well as five Ironman titles and numerous middle-distance victories. Fabian and I were part of the Erdinger Alkoholfrei Perspektivteam years ago, so we’ve known each other for quite a while – which makes it even nicer that our paths cross again now.
Fabian: So you got into endurance sports quite early. How did it all begin for you?
Daniela: I originally came from swimming, but I competed in my first kids’ triathlon at the age of 11 and was instantly hooked by this beautiful sport. The versatility and constant challenge immediately captivated me.

Fabian: And looking back over all those years – which moment stands out the most in your memory?
Daniela: There are countless moments. Of course, the big wins – like my victory at Challenge Roth, or first place at Ironman South Africa and Ironman Frankfurt in 2022, just one year after my second baby break – are at the top of the list. But there are also moments or phases that happen behind the scenes, when you manage to fight your way back from a setback and learn to love the process – regardless of the race outcome. Those can be deeply fulfilling too, even if they’re only shared with yourself or your close circle.
Fabian: I can completely relate, and I’m glad our paths have crossed again at deepzone. Can you tell our readers how you joined the team?
Daniela: Sure. Some time ago, you introduced me to deepzone and I had the chance to take part in the first test program. The idea of combining neuroscientific insights with cutting-edge technology, putting mental training at the core of sport, and creating real value for athletes immediately caught my interest. Especially in triathlon, the mind often plays the decisive role – and I see huge potential in what deepzone is doing.
Fabian: And what ultimately convinced you to join us?
Daniela: From the beginning, I had the feeling that deepzone truly understands sport – that you’re not just building a product “for athletes,” but building it with them. That closeness to real practice makes all the difference.
Fabian: What excites you most about what we’re building at deepzone?
Daniela: I’m fascinated by the combination of state-of-the-art technology with real athlete experience. I believe this creates solutions that can elevate training and competition to a whole new level for each individual, helping athletes unlock their full potential.
Fabian: What do you personally want to contribute to the collaboration?
Daniela: My experience from professional sport and also from my “double role” as a mother. In particular, how training, recovery, and mental strength can be combined in a way that makes products truly useful for athletes in their everyday lives.
Fabian: And what are you most looking forward to at deepzone?
Daniela: I’m excited to share my perspective and at the same time learn from the rest of the team. So above all, I look forward to the exchange and to seeing the developments unfold live.
Fabian: One last personal question: What drives you – especially on tough days?
Daniela: The same thing that drives me on the good ones: my family.
Fabian: Beautiful. Thank you so much for the interview – and once again, a very warm welcome to the team!
Daniela: My pleasure. Thank you!
